If you’re looking for some holiday fun in St. George this season, we have put together a list of some of the greatest local traditions. Many of these are annual traditions that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Christmas Light Spectacular

Hedgehog Electric has provided a map of some of the best Christmas light displays in the city. You won’t have to search around anymore! Additionally, they are also donating $1 to Habitat for Humanity for every Facebook “like” they get during the month of December. Go to their Facebook page, find their map, and like their page for some holiday cheer!

Christmas Performances

One of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season is to go see a performance around town. Plays and ballets are a great way to share in the Christmas spirit. This year, St. George Ballet Company is putting on a performance of The Nutcracker, Hurricane Art Center is showing A Christmas Carol, and Brigham’s Playhouse is bringing It’s a Wonderful Life to the stage. Christmas in the Canyon

Christmas in the Canyon is an event put on by the Tuacahn theater, about 20 minutes outside of St. George. From November 28 - December 22, Tuacahn provides several activities that are free and open to the public. There is a live Nativity, a holiday train ride, Santa Claus, concessions, shopping and more. Visit tuacahn.org for more details.

Jubilee of Trees

Although finished now, this annual event features some of the most gorgeous Christmas Trees in the area. At the end of November, the St. George Convention Center hosts a plethora of gorgeous, well decorated Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, and other decorations. Different organizations donate the trees, and the event is open to the public. Admission fees are donations to Dixie Regional Medical Center. If you missed it this year, be sure to check it out next year!

Although St. George may not experience the snow that many parts of Utah are famous for, there is plenty of holiday fun in St. George! It is the most magical time of year to attend a play, visit Santa Claus, and see the lights. Have a happy holiday!
