I have been visiting St. George for a few decades.  I recently purchased a new home and now I live here.  I have never been to the Black Bear Diner until now.  There are numerous locations all over the western United States, but the restaurant here in St. George is the only one in Southern Utah.  I saw several families waiting to eat at this restaurant and decided to try the place out.  I was not disappointed.

The restaurant offers several menus:

We visited the restaurant for an early dinner and the place was not too crowded.  They offer huge portions of things like chicken fried steak, wild Alaska salmon, chicken parmesan, meatloaf, pot roast, burgers, signature sandwiches, salads, and soups.  They offer an entrée of chicken and a waffle.  I love breakfast for dinner, so I was happy to see that I could order breakfast foods all day long.

Children (and adults) will enjoy the carved wooden bears that can be found throughout the restaurant and outside too.  On the Black Bear Diner website they tell you that Ray Schulz is the “chainsaw-wielding mastermind” behind all of the bears.

The mission of the Black Bear Diner is to “be the best diner we can possibly be, and create a place where joy, belonging, and love are key ingredients at every meal – where employees are treated like family, and customers are welcomed with open arms.  And while we’re serious about making high-quality, soul-satisfying food, we always do it with a smile.  But above all else, we never, ever skip dessert.”  Speaking of dessert, the desserts looked delicious.  The have pies, cakes, cobblers, shakes and brownie sundaes.

The Black Bear Diner is just off the freeway at 1245 South Main Street.

They are open daily from 6:00am – 11:00pm.

If you haven't had a chance to enjoy this restaurant, put it on your calendar now.  You will not be disappointed.

Live life to the fullest with no regrets!
